RAK Wireless 8dBi Fiber Glass Antenna is a high-quality high gain antenna designed for outdoor deployment. The antenna connector is integrated with the antenna body, as this design increases the antenna’s resistance to external conditions. It is IP67-rated, making it weatherproof. The antenna is designed to operate in the 868 MHz band, including EU868, IN865, and RU864.
The coverage provided by this high gain antenna makes it ideal for deployment in high altitude locations on the outskirts of urban areas or small villages, where there are fewer buildings and people. In such scenarios, the signal is more likely to travel longer distances to reach its intended recipient. If you need the transmission signal to cover the opposite side of an urban area or nearby villages and cities, this antenna is will provide the required coverage.

The specifications of this antenna make it an excellent choice for use with a Meshtastic node, facilitating the connection of communities. Its long-range capabilities allow it to cover distant areas, such as villages or cities. For optimal performance, installing the antenna at a high elevation, such as on the top of a high rise building or on a mountain top, will provide a direct line of sight to distant locations, improving signal transmission to faraway structures that are only faintly visible on the horizon.

*The included RP-SMA to N-type cable with the antenna is for indoor use only. For reliable outdoor applications please use a N connector on coax feed line.
Note:Â This antenna is too long to be directly attached to a gateway or hotspot enclosure’s N-type connector. To prevent damage to the connector, particularly during windy conditions, we recommend using a coaxial feeder line cable and securing the antenna with brackets, positioning it away from the enclosure.
Shipping notice:Â Due to the length of the antenna, the shipping cost will be higher than normal!
