Chameleon Antenna MIL EXT 2.0
The MIL EXT 2.0 is a collapsible antenna extension designed to boost the performance of the MIL WHIP 2.0. Built from thick-walled aluminum-alloy sections, it is rugged, portable, and quick to deploy in the field.
Installed with a CHA HYBRID-MICRO or HYBRID-MINI base, the MIL WHIP + MIL EXT system becomes a broadband HF antenna covering 1.8–54 MHz* when used with an external tuner. When combined with the MIL WHIP 2.0, the total antenna length increases to 5.53 m (18′2″), improving efficiency on the lower HF bands.
* Limited performance below 3.5 MHz.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What does the MIL EXT 2.0 do?
The MIL EXT 2.0 lengthens the MIL WHIP 2.0 to improve efficiency on lower HF bands and to support true broadband operation with a HYBRID base and tuner.
How long is the system with MIL WHIP 2.0 attached?
Combined length is 5.53 m (18′2″) when the MIL EXT 2.0 is used with the MIL WHIP 2.0.
What frequency range can I cover with the extension installed?
With a CHA HYBRID-MICRO or HYBRID-MINI base and an external tuner, the system covers 1.8–54 MHz. Note: performance is limited below 3.5 MHz.
Is an antenna tuner required?
Yes. An external tuner is needed to achieve broadband matching across 1.8–54 MHz in the MPAS configuration.
What mounting thread does it use?
Standard 3/8-24 thread for straightforward integration with CHA HYBRID bases and common mounts.
What’s the difference between the HYBRID-MICRO and HYBRID-MINI?
- HYBRID-MICRO: ultra-portable; up to 100 W SSB / 50 W CW & digital.
- HYBRID-MINI: higher power handling; up to 500 W SSB / 250 W CW & digital.
