Chameleon Antenna MIL WHIPÂ 2.0
The MIL WHIPÂ 2.0 is a rugged, collapsible broadband whip antenna engineered for tactical, portable, and field communications. Built from seven precision-machined brass sections connected with military-grade shock cord, it deploys in seconds and is tough enough for demanding environments.
Used by itself, the MIL WHIP 2.0 covers 26–54 MHz with an external antenna tuner. For extended performance, pair it with the HYBRID-MICRO or HYBRID-MINI base, the system becomes a broadband HF antenna covering 1.8–54 MHz* when used with an external tuner. Adding MIL EXT 2.0, increases total antenna length to 5.53 m (18′2″).
* Limited performance below 3.5Â MHz.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What frequency range does the MIL WHIPÂ 2.0 cover on its own?
Used by itself, the MIL WHIP 2.0 covers 26–54 MHz with an external antenna tuner.
How do I get full HF coverage (1.8–54 MHz)?
Pair the MIL WHIP 2.0 with a CHA HYBRID-MICRO or HYBRID-MINI base. This combination provides 1.8–54 MHz broadband coverage with an external tuner.
Note: performance is limited below 3.5Â MHz.
How long is the antenna when extended?
The MIL WHIP 2.0 alone extends to 2.86 m (9′4″). With the MIL EXT 2.0, the total length is 5.53 m (18′2″).
How small does it pack down?
The MIL WHIP 2.0 collapses to just 51 cm (20″), ideal for backpacks or field kits.
What mounting options are available?
Standard 3/8-24 thread, compatible with common mounts and CHA HYBRID bases.
Do I need an antenna tuner?
Yes. An external tuner is required to match the antenna effectively across its operating range.
What’s the difference between the HYBRID-MICRO and HYBRID-MINI?
- HYBRID-MICRO: ultra-portable; up to 100Â W SSB / 50Â W CW & digital.
- HYBRID-MINI: higher power handling; up to 500Â W SSB / 250Â W CW & digital.
