The Chameleon PRV 2.0, or Portable Resonant Vertical 2.0, is part of the Chameleon MPAS Ready family. It uses the MCC 2.0 multi-configuration coil and stainless-steel SS58 telescopic whip to create a compact, field-adjustable vertical antenna for 40–10 m HF operation, with an additional 6 m vertical off-centre-fed dipole configuration. Unlike broadband compromise antennas, the PRV 2.0 is designed to be tuned to resonance, helping reduce system losses and removing the need for an external antenna tuner when properly adjusted.
The system can be deployed as a centre-loaded vertical for improved efficiency, especially on the lower HF bands, or as a compact base-loaded vertical when space, visibility or speed matters most. It can also be expanded with other MPAS Ready components for more specialised field configurations.

Why Choose the Chameleon PRV 2.0?
- Resonant efficiency: Tuned operation helps avoid the losses common in broadband portable compromise antennas.
- Flexible deployment: Use centre-loaded, base-loaded or 6 m OCFD configurations depending on the location and band.
- Portable but serious: Rugged components, counterpoise wires, band keys and a compact coil system make it practical for demanding field use.
- Expandable system: MPAS Ready compatibility lets you build on the antenna with Chameleon accessories as your station requirements grow.

Performance Notes and Setup Guidance
For best efficiency on lower HF bands, use the centre-loaded vertical configuration with the supplied extension section to raise the loading coil above the feed point. This improves current distribution compared with a compact base-loaded setup. The base-loaded configuration is useful when you need a smaller footprint, a more discreet installation or a very fast temporary station.
Deploy the supplied counterpoise wires as evenly as possible around the antenna and keep them clear of trip hazards. Tune the MCC 2.0 coil for the desired band and confirm resonance with an antenna analyser or transceiver SWR display before transmitting at higher power. The included Band Keys make repeatable field settings faster once you have found your preferred tuning points.
The Chameleon PRV 2.0 is a strong choice for operators who want a compact, resonant, field-proven vertical antenna that can travel easily and adapt to different operating locations. Select your preferred BNC or SO-239 version and add the PRV 2.0 to your portable HF station today.
