Performance notes & setup guidance

  • Power: The 1 W RF stage requires a stable 5 V supply. Use USB power, a regulated 5 V adapter, or a properly designed battery/regulator solution. Avoid powering the booster from 3.3 V rails.
  • Thermals: High duty-cycle TX at elevated output power increases heat. For best reliability, avoid unnecessary continuous transmissions and ensure airflow in enclosures.
  • Regulatory compliance: 1 W capability does not mean 1 W is legal everywhere. Configure frequency plan, TX power, duty cycle, and antenna gain to comply with local requirements.
  • Antenna placement: Elevation and clear line-of-sight typically outperform additional TX power; place the antenna as high and unobstructed as practical.
